Protection bullfighters ready for the Slick Rock Challenge

 

ROCKSPRINGS, Texas – Fans love to see wild ac= tion, especially when it involves a man engaging a tremendous beast.

Fans will get more than the= ir money’s worth at the Edwards County Fairgrounds in Rocksprings on Fri= day-Saturday, July 3-4. Not only will they experience some world-class cowboys and tremen= dous bucking bulls in the PBR Enterprise Rent-A-Car Tour event, but they will al= so experience some of the greatest athletes in the sport in the Professional Bullfighters Daisy Protection Bullfight Tour competition.

It’s all part of the = Slick Rock Challenge, and the ferocious action will keep fans on the edges of the= ir seats throughout the entire performance.

“This is a great Four= th of July event, and the athletes that are part of the Daisy Protection Bullfight competition have proven over the years why they’re the best,” s= aid Jim McLain Jr., president of the Professional Bullfighters Inc. “These are world-class bullfighters, and they know their business.”

The four-team field is high= lighted by reigning world champion Andy Burelle of Ardmore, Okla., who will be fighting this weekend with Texan Kevin Pitts, 23, of Burleson, = the reigning PBF Daisy Rookie of the Year. They represent Team Daisy.

“I’m pretty ble= ssed to get a chance to work with some of the great up-and-coming guys in bullfighting,” said Burelle, who shares h= is 2008 world title with Dusty Tuckness of Meeteetse, Wyo., another 23-year-old. “Dusty and I work a lot together, but it’s nice to know that coming to an event like this that I’ll have the guy to beat= in the rookie race last year.

“I’m looking forward to the event coming to Rocksprings as part of the PBR, because the fans will get to see the best competition around.”   = ;

        &= nbsp;   Burelle is the 2008 PBF world champion with Dusty Tuckness, and Pitts is the 2008 Daisy rookie of the y= ear.

  &nb= sp;         Brewer was the MVP of the PBF World Championshi= ps and finished runner-up in the world standings, and Moore is the leader in the 2009 Daisy rookie-of-the-year race.
